Roatan, the largest of the Bay Islands of Honduras, lies between the islands of Utila and Guanaja. It is approximately 60 kilometers long and less than 8 kilometers wide at its widest point.
The capital is Coxen Hole, which is at the same time the town of the island with the largest number of inhabitants. Among other major towns include French Harbor and Oak Ridge.
