One of the most recent and luxurious holiday resorts to have been developed in Turkey is Belek, some 21.5 miles southeast of Antalya. The main point of attraction is the apparently endless lightly coloured sandy beach, which together with the crystal clear waters and the backdrop of dark green pine forests, create a perfect picture. Numerous 5-star hotels and holiday complexes are available in addition to an extensive offer of activities and amusements, including various golf courses in the vicinity.
The sandy beach of Belek lies between Alanya and Side. The stretch of sand is very popular by families with children, because mostly the access to the sea is very gentle. In many parts of the some miles long beach parasols and deck chairs can be lent, some beach bars care for the visitors and different water sport opportunities are on offer. A few miles from Side's town beach, Çolakli Beach is connected to the eastern side of the headland. Although, the beach is outside of Side's true city centre, tourist facilities still exist. Countless opportunities for water sports, beach showers and parasol and deckchair hire are all on offer. A few bars and stalls cater for hungry and thirsty visitors.
