Overview

New Jersey invites visitors to enjoy its pleasant shoreline, vibrant gambling scene, boardwalk amusement complexes, striking gardens, historic sites, romantic weekend getaways and interesting vacation destinations. The largest city in the state, Newark features the world-class Newark Museum. In Jersey City, visit Liberty State Park and the Liberty Science Center. Head to the Jersey Shore to enjoy the entertainment features of several boardwalks, or find a more secluded atmosphere at Sunset Beach at Cape May. Asbury Park, hometown of rock legend Bruce Springsteen, is known for its thriving arts community. Atlantic City means dazzling casinos, bright lights and an unbelievable nightlife. The Skylands offer skiing experiences, and the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area is home to countless outdoor recreation pursuits.

Newark has a great location and is the perfect home base for day trips into New York City and the surrounding areas. The New Jersey Performing Arts Center showcases incredible performances throughout the year including symphony orchestras, dance troupes, choirs and more. Branch Brook Park’s annual springtime Cherry Blossom Festival beckons visitors with the largest display of cherry blossoms in the U.S. The interesting Ironbound neighborhood showcases striking architecture including the 1933 Pennsylvania Train Station, historic churches, and other buildings.

New Jersey offers well over 100 miles of inviting coastline comprising the New Jersey Shore region. Hit the waves on a surfboard, fishing boat, or charter boat tour, or just relax on the beach and enjoy the show. Sunset Beach in Cape May is known for its breathtaking sunsets and provides charming Victorian accommodation and unique boutique shopping. Long Beach Island is a haven for surfing, scuba diving, and sailing excursions.

The Wildwoods are one of the most popular family destinations on the New Jersey Shore, composed of miles of well-kept beaches and four towns. The Wildwoods host hundreds of free events every year, 5 miles of award-winning sandy beaches and a two mile long Boardwalk entertainment complex with shops, dining and amusements. The Boardwalk is known for being one of the most festive seaside areas on the New Jersey coast. Morey’s Pier in Wildwood is a must-see destination due to the seven thrilling rollercoasters and beachfront water park. Cabana rentals and spa massage services are available on site. The Wildwoods beaches are perfect for swimming, surfing, jet skiing, kayaking and whale watching.
